Four practices. Most companies need more than one, and the order they arrive in depends on what already exists.

Product Design

Most of a product is decided before anything is drawn: what it does, what it refuses to do, and what a person is meant to understand first. Structure, flow, and interface follow from that. The studio works through it with founders and engineering teams and hands over files and a maintained component library.

Art Direction

A company is recognised in its images long before anyone reads a word of it. Photography, motion, typography, layout. The studio sets the approach, commissions and directs the work, and writes the system down for the team to apply.

Brand Identity

An identity is a small number of decisions applied a very large number of times. A name, a mark, a palette, a way of setting type. The studio makes those decisions with founders and writes the rules that govern them, so the work holds together across everything produced afterwards.

Partnership

The decisions that shape how a company looks are rarely briefed as design decisions. They arrive in a standup, a pricing change, a screenshot in a group chat. The studio holds a standing arrangement with a small number of companies, present through the ordinary weeks of a cycle rather than only at launches.
